About Terrils

Terrils

Terrils is home to the main gateway to the Hoge Kempen National Park. It forms a unique nature reserve in the province of Belgian Limburg where more than 5700 ha of forest and heather are managed and protected. The area extends over the municipalities of Dilsen-Stokkem, Maasmechelen, Zutendaal, Lanaken, Genk and As.
Be surprised by this special piece of Flemish nature in Terhills with extensive pine forests, large ponds that testify the gravel and sand extraction and the high tops of the mining slag offers spectacular panoramas.
