Usually held once or twice a month throughout the region, farmers’ markets bring the local area’s top producers together to sell their fresh locally grown produce.

Stalls burst with everything from seasonal fruit and vegetables to meat, poultry and game. Enjoy mouth-watering seafood, such as smoked mackerel or salmon, sample cheese and artisan chocolates and stock up on homemade jams, pickles, breads and locally brewed craft beer.

Many markets also hold cookery demonstrations where the producers will show you how best to prepare and cook their products and the stallholders will be happy to share recipe ideas too.
