Spaubeek is a quiet village with even a train station. Near the Sint-Laurentiuskerk is a large square where you can park for free and from which you can easily discover Spaubeek.
Spaubeek originated from a group of houses in the area, of which Hobbelrade is the most beautiful. Here you can admire a long series of old farmhouses, including a large half-timbered farmhouse. Above all Spaubeek is a hiking paradise from the village you are immediate in the middle of nature.

Landgraaf is located in the south-east of the province Limburg (NL) and is a relatively young municipality in beautiful surroundings.

Some highlights:

The Wilhelminaberg (hill) is created from mine stone of the Wilhelmina State Mine in Landgraaf and these slopes weren’t at the beginning so green. And mine stone is an unavoidable by-product of coal mining, from 1906 to 1969 it was poured out day and night via long conveyor belts, making this hill higher and higher.
